This Week’s Stories

We’ve got five stories this week. Four of them were submitted by new followers and subscribers. One of them is my own story about a bug that I’ve been experiencing for the last year that I’ve accepted as a feature.

• 📸 Instagram’s Time Capsule Bug - I wrote this one! This bug has been weird. I haven’t been able to figure out how it happens or why, but I’ve grown to love it. If you have any ideas, please tell me!

• 👨🏾‍⚖️ How Justice Clarence Thomas uncovered a seven-year-old bug in my computer program - Not only is the bug interesting, but the software itself and why it exists is fascinating. Thanks to Gaurav Kamath for sending this to me!

• 📧 Excel, Email and Electricity - This would have felt like black magic until it was solved. I don’t think I would’ve been able to solve this one. Thanks to “Nekhrimah” for posting this in the HN comments!

• 💻 CPU Core Speed stuck at 0.80GHz Latitude e7440 - What a bizarre solution to this problem. Whoever discovered this workaround deserves a raise. Thanks to Georg v. Breitenbuch for sending this my way!

• 🚓 100 Parking Tickets - Bold move trying to sell the tickets. I wonder if they ever sold. Thanks to “nzealand” on HN for recommending this one!
